Remodeling Your Bathroom? Then This is The Guide For You

Do you want to remodel your bathroom? Maybe you want to make sure that you make the right changes, but you don’t know where to start. Either way, this guide will help you to upgrade your bathroom without the stress.

Build Some Recesses

When space is very tight, one thing you can do is build in, rather than building out. Built-ins, such as recessed soap dishes, medical cabinets and even toilet roll holders are good to have. You can even flatten your ceiling light by opting for a recessed light instead. If you can do this, then you will soon find that you are able to capitalise on the extra space you have.

Ventilation

All bathrooms need to have some kind of ventilation. You can do this by having a window put in, or you can opt for an exhaust fan instead. If you want to get a bathroom exhaust fan then one thing you can do is look at the exhaust capacity, and how many cubic feet per minute it can move. You need to do this in conjunction with the noise level. If you have a very small bathroom then you may find that the noise level is just too much, so never buy a fan bigger than what you need.

Add some Plants

Plants in your bathroom should never be an afterthought. Plants are ideal as they help to bring some colour into a boring and lifeless bathroom. If you want to benefit yourself here then try and add a floating shelf, for the purpose of having some trailing plants. You can also add a few succulents if you want to make your space pop. By doing this, you can be sure to bring your bathroom to life.

Choose the Right Flooring

Solid wood floors add a lot of character to bathrooms, but from a practical standpoint, they are not the best option. If you want to do something about this, then one thing you can do is opt for flooring that is hardy enough to stand up to the rigours of your bathroom use. Flooring favourites happen to include luxury vinyl tile, ceramic and even porcelain tile. Sheet vinyl is ideal if you want something a bit more waterproof. If you have a lot of plumbing work to be done, then make sure that you don’t put the floor down just yet. As always, any plumbing work should be left to professional plumbers.

Size and Colour

If you want to make your very small bathroom look bigger then you have to make sure that the colour palette stays on the lighter end of the spectrum. The one thing to know about dark colours is that they can make the room feel very small and somewhat claustrophobic. If possible, you need to use lighter fixtures, especially with the toilet or the bathtub. Think twice about painting the bathroom ceiling any colour but white too. If you opt for a bold colour, then you may find that this shrinks the room, and this is the last thing you want.
