Start with getting organized

The organization is key to saving time, as you’ll know where everything is located. The layout of your kitchen can truly make all the difference, and it’s best to try and find one permanent spot for everything.

  • Utilize your pantry
  • Keep your countertops clear
  • Keep the most used items easy to reach
  • Place items for children in an area that they can easily reach
  • Use the light containers for food
  • Keep all lids and containers together at all times
  • Look into labeling certain products

These all may be obvious, but you’d be surprised how much of a game-changer it really can be if you know where everything is at all times. If there are others who live with you such as a spouse or little ones, then make sure to set some ground rules where items go.  A part of being organized is also having a home maintenance checklist, so in general, it makes the household much easier if you can manage to organize all rooms.

Use kitchen gadgets

Some kitchen gadgets are a total flop, but there are others that really can help out in saving time. It just really depends as they all vary. Sure, there are some kitchen gadgets out on the market that are a little expensive, but you don’t need every single one that exists. First, you want to think about the types of food you usually cook on a weekly basis and the types of gadgets that could help out in making the cooking process go by much quicker. Some ideas that could help you out in the kitchen can include:

  • Slow cooker
  • Food processor, blender, or stick blender
  • Mandolin
  • Mixer (stand mixer or a hand mixer)
  • Garlic press

There is a wide variety of kitchen tools on the market, but it’s best to select something that you know will get a lot of use often, and that can make your life much easier.

Select meals that are easy to cook

Weeknights are meant for easy meals. Choosing dishes that require less prep time and fewer ingredients can help you out in saving on time, money, energy, and stress. A great example could include looking into a recipe for cooking green beans in a skillet. Then you can use the same skillet to cook foods such as your meat. This saves you time in having to wash dishes, and it just makes the entire cooking process far more simple.
