So when you start to decorate your home keep these simple things in mind to keep your budget low while still creating a fab home.

How To Decorate On A Budget

The most important thing to do first before hitting the web or stores, is to make sure that you know your budget for your decorations as well as if you are doing design work in your home.

You need two know what you can afford. Determine a payment plan or how much money you have for the room or space you will be working on. The best way to keep your budget in check is to do one room at a time.

If you can prioritize your home, let’s say for your family the living room is the most used room, you might want to do this room first. It is very hard to do an entire home at once while keeping in check with your budget.

Before you make any purchases on the interior design and schemes you have decided upon you should view the colors in your home with the different light schemes in the room.

Be sure to view the colors you choose with natural light coming into the room and with lamps or the bulbs you will choose to light the room with.

Lighting when it comes to home design and decorating are something you should never forget. It really makes a huge difference on what a color you might like, might look really different on your walls or accessories in your home.

You may completely disagree with the color schemes once you have decorated and then have to spend more money to change what you have decided upon.

You should also think about the decorating and design you are going to do in the rooms of your home if you don’t plan to be there for a long time.

When I decorated our home, well any of our homes, the one thing that I really consider is resell. Honestly, I am not sure if we will stay in our home that we are in now, so I went with basic colors that would go perfectly with anyones design choices if they wanted to use their own decorations.

I used a lot of grey in my home because it is timeless and really works well with any home decor. I also did one accent wall that is a blue “ish” color. Which can be easily changed in our dining room.

You don’t want to spend a lot of money for major changes to the rooms. You should buy items that will spruce up the room and give you the look and feel you enjoy but that you can take with you when you go. You don’t want to be decorating each room every time you move.

Easy Budget Friendly Idea

One super easy way to update your home and decor is by adding beautiful molding. This is a very inexpensive way to update your home and home decor. One company that I highly recommend is Ornamental Moulding & Millwork.

This is so easy to do and I went into detail in the posting above but really makes for a simple project that you will enjoy for years.

I used their decorative blocks, which not only really looks amazing but also saves you on cutting when it comes to the molding itself.

I do hope that this gives you some ideas on how to decorate on a budge. Another thing you can do when it comes to accessories for your home is to think, HomeGoods and TJMAXX, even Michaels which has a selection of amazing accessories for your home.
