High Tech Hearing Protection For Shooting Sports

My goal this year was to start doing more of what I love, and one thing that you may not know about me is that I love guns and to target shoot. For about ten years I have been collecting guns anything from handguns to long rifles. It is just something that I enjoy. Along with collecting all kinds of guns I adore shooting as well. Setting up targets in the summer is something my husband and I love to do, but one thing that I always make sure that I have is a good pair of hearing protection. Since I also adore music, it is so important to me to protect my little ears. They are like gold to me 😉

Today I would like to show you one pair of high-tech hearing protection for shooting sports from Honeywell, the Howard Leight Impact Sport Earmuffs.  If you have never used a pair of noise canceling earmuffs, they have to be one of my favorites. When I started out shooting I just used the simple stick in ear plug, needless to say, they did not work well. With the Impact Sport Earmuffs, they automatically shut off amplification when harmful sound levels are reached, blocking any continuous or impulsive noise over 82 db.

If you enjoy shooting with friends or family, the Impact Sports Earmuffs work perfectly for that as well. The Impact Sport Earmuffs amplify low-level ambient sound such as conversation and range commands while reducing the sound of gunfire. So you hear what you need to while still eliminating high range gunfire.

Additional Features:

  • Noise Reduction Rating 22db
  • Battery life of up to 350 hours
  • Automatic 4-hour shut-off
  • Convenient folding design for easy storage
  • Single knob control for on/off and volume
  •  Air Flow Controlâ„¢ Technology
  • Black leatherette headband with Mossy Oak Break-Up Infinity earcups
  • Water-resistant
  • 2 AAA Batteries and 3.5 audio connection cord included

I just love the these earmuffs. The pair that I had before these were super heavy, and these are just like I have my favorite earphones on (Weighs 10.5 oz. with batteries). The slim earcup design allows for full clearance when handling a firearm stock, and the padded stereo muffs keep ears comfortable. If you are a lone shooter or hunter, you also could take advantage of the built-in AUX jack that allows users to connect to any MP3 player or smartphone. Which I think is awesome!!

Another design detail is just how compact the Impact Sport Earmuffs are. I keep everything that I need when I go shooting in a convenient travel bag, and it can become full when I load up all the ammo. With these particular earmuffs, I can really fit everything that I need to in my bag.

I would highly recommend checking out the Impact Sport Earmuffs because they simply work perfectly! You can purchase these online at Cabela’s for $69.99 which is a great deal for the technology. There is nothing I would change about these earmuffs from the design to the function they really are perfect, and I love the added MP3/phone jack.
