Carrying Out a Deep Clean in Your Home
Over the past four months, most of us have found ourselves spending more and more time at home. Governments around the world have implemented social isolation and social distancing measures to slow the spread of coronavirus and Covid-19. Of course, this worldwide pandemic was entirely unprecedented and many of us weren’t prepared to spend so much time within our own four walls.
Chances are, recently, you’ve found yourself taking a closer look at your property and finding all sorts of things you want to change about it in order to feel more comfortable within your own space.
Now, restrictions are lifting and many of us are now able to use services and get to the store to buy any essentials we might need to achieve these new home goals we’ve set in our minds. The first step you’ll need to take is conducting a deep clean. Here are just a few things you’ll need to do to make your home as clean as possible!
Declutter
The first thing you need to do when deep cleaning your home is decluttering. This essential step will remove any unnecessary or unwanted belongings from your space, helping it to feel peaceful and comfortable rather than overbearing. Sift through your belongings, find anything you don’t want or need and put it in a pile. You may want to hire Same-Day Rubbish Removals to collect larger items. For smaller items, you can sell, recycle, donate or find another good use for your old belongings.
Cleaning Your Carpets
Next come the chores. There are plenty of chores that we carry out on a day to day basis to keep our space clean. Vacuuming is one of them. But you need to remember that vacuuming only removes surface dirt and doesn’t actually clean the fabric of your carpets. In order to clean your carpets, you’ll either have to call in the services of a professional carpet cleaner, or rent a carpet cleaning machine and carry out the work yourself.
This will essentially cleanse the carpet, lifting dirt from deep in the pile. You may be surprised to see the amount of dirt that is lifted from your carpet and to see the change of color in your floors. But when you bear in mind how many feet and even paws come into contact with your carpet, it does all make sense.
Cleaning Your Couch
Another area that tends to get neglected in your day to day cleaning routine is your couch. Your couch comes into contact with dirty clothes and dirty hands every day when people sit on it, pets jump on it and kids spill things on it.
Some couches have removable covers. If yours does, simply put the cover in the washing machine. However, if your couch doesn’t have these, it’s best to rent a steam cleaner, which will lift any dirt from the fabric’s fibres of upholstered couches and chairs.
These are just a few steps you’ll need to take to get started on your journey to a clear, clutter free and clean home. This may take a little time, but all in all, the results will be more than worth it!
