Apple Dip With Cinnamon Pie Chips

October 15, 2019 in Dips

Oh fall, how I love you…let me count the ways. As you can see by the many posts I do ever so love the fall season. Here at Hello Betty, we will be transitioning next week to holiday mode but today I wanted to share this fab apple dip with cinnamon pie chips recipe. This is really the bomb of a recipe.

One thing that I love about the fall other than all the amazing pumpkin recipes are the apples. I come from Chambersburg, PA and I can remember as a kid going with my grandfather to pick apples from the trees. They were always so good! This recipe takes everything that you love from a pie into a fab dip that is perfect for serving guests this season.

If you have read my blog for any amount of time you know that I adore easy but amazing recipes and this is one of those recipes. This is super easy to create and really does not take much time at all. This gives you more time to have fun this fall but make your guests think you slaved over a stove. he he he.

How to make Apple Dip With Cinnamon Pie Chips

One of the things that makes this recipe beautiful is simply the little cinnamon apple chips. To make these is really easy! If you won’t have an apple cookie cutter you can do any shape you would like.

Preheat oven to 375. Lay out pie crust and brush melted butter on each one. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.

Cut into triangle wedges or use a cookie cutter to cut out shapes. Place in oven on a parchment-lined cookie sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown on the bottom. Take out and set aside.

Next, you will want to start the dip. Peel and dice up the apples. Place them in a skillet, add the lemon juice, brown sugar, allspice, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Mix well.

Cook on medium-high heat until apples start to soften and the juices from the apples come to a boil. *During this process if you don’t have enough juice from the apples then add a few Tablespoons of water and mix. Do this until the apples are softened. **Some apples are juicer than others, so water may not be needed.

Mix the cornstarch and water in a small bowl then add to the apples. Continue to cook for 2-3 additional minutes until the mixture is thickened.

Honestly, that is it! This recipe is so simple and so much fun for you and your family to enjoy. These also would be the perfect little dessert for Thanksgiving as well. Below you will find a full recipe and I do hope that you try this out. Happy cooking my friends.
