Purchase A Rug 

Updating your flooring can be expensive, which is why purchasing a rug can be a great alternative. As with above, rugs come in all shapes and sizes, allowing them to fill any floor space within your living room They also come in a variety of materials, making them ideal for all types of use.

Most furniture stores sell rugs if you want to see what designs you can get. You could move the rug around in your house making all your rooms look different every couple of months. Alternatively, you could purchase a couple of rugs and replace them every three to six months to update the room. 

Repaint Your Walls 

Painting your walls will instantly change the feel of the room. Wall paint doesn’t have to be expensive and can easily be applied by yourself. Most hardware stores will have a range of paints that you can take a look at and bring some samples home to help decide which color you would like.

Try to be creative when you are repainting your walls, you could paint stripes or different patterns if you feel confident enough. A simple effect that many people opt for is to paint a feature wall. 

Add Some Lighting 

Purchase a stand-up lamp, add smart bulbs or replace your ceiling light, these are all little things that you can do to your living space to spruce it up and make a change. By adding smart bulbs you can use an app on your phone to change the colors, whilst a new lamp adds a new dynamic when in use. Stand-up lamps can be placed around your house and make for a nice evening light that you can read from.
