As we all prepare for the upcoming BBQ season and holidays, it is time to get those grills ready. The Bite’s family uses the grill all summer and at times throughout the winter. Cooking up veggies and burgers is a great way to get the family together and have fun doing it, but what about the grill. I know personally I don’t clean my grill but once before the season starts and you can tell. My grill is about eight years old but still has a little life left in it. Next weekend as we celebrate Memorial Day it is time to get those grills ready. I wanted to show you how easy it is to use the CLR Grill Cleaner to prepare for this season.
It is so important to clean your grill each season because not only is that gunk on the grill unsightly, but it actually can cause flare-ups. Not only ruining the sear on that perfect steak, but also can be dangerous. Using this product is very simple, but first we must take one thing into consideration, your outfit! We have to find suitable attire for cleaning the grill. Personally, I don’t like to use my own clothes when cleaning a greasy mess. So I head into my husband’s closet to find some of his old work shirts. shhh..Don’t tell him. Once I find that shirt, that should have been thrown away months ago, I get to work. I always cut it in half and I will tell you why later on.
Like I said earlier my grill has a lot to be desired, but it still is a great grill. Throughout the winter it gets really dirty, inside and out. I have never been able to find a cleaner that will tackle this gunk. Till now! I did not want to put before and after pictures, but I guess I must. This is how my grill looks when first uncovered for the season.
As I went to work I read on the back of the CLR Grill cleaner to let the solution soak for about five minutes. I was thinking to myself, more like an hour or two. he he he.
I sprayed down the entire inside of the grill and let it soak the recommended time as directed.
I was super surprised when I went to wash it down with clean water, that all that yuck was melting away. Here is a close up picture of the before and after, in one of the worst sections of the grill.
So now you might be wondering why I cut the shirt in half. I’ll tell you because the outside of the grill is nasty as well. Since the outside is a bit more delicate than the inside, I used the CLR Outdoor Furniture Cleaner to clean this area. It worked perfectly. I use the half of the shirt to wipe it down and scrub the areas that need it.
I am so pleased with the results of the CLR Grill Cleaner. If you have an old, nasty grill, pull it out and see what CLR can do for you. Not only does CLR offer Grill Cleaner but they also have other cleaners for indoor and outdoor use. CLR aims to make cleaning as quick and painless as possible, regardless of who is visiting or who is in charge of cleanup. Trusted products such as CLR Bath & Kitchen Cleaner, CLR Calcium, Lime & Rust Remover and CLR Mold & Mildew Remover make it easy to clean up so you can focus on your company vs. what may or may not be lurking.
