Did you know that 75% of people wear corrective lenses, but few eyeglass wearers know their glasses have additional functionality. In 1991, Transitions Optical was the first to roll out adaptive lenses that darken in UV light, making them a wearable-tech pioneer. Today’s Transitions lenses adjust to UV rays faster than ever, fit in most any frame and are available in new colors (gray, brown, graphite green).I have worn glasses for years and always have a pair of clear glasses and a pair of sunglasses. It can really be a pain switching them around and even trying to remember your sunglasses. With Transitions Optical there is not need to remember to bring those extra glasses. I have always had people ask me why I still wear glasses and not contacts. One is a medical condition and secondly, I love the look of glasses. I just think they are timeless and most will not go out of style.
Recently, Transitions created a new Signature line, which I have to say that I am very impressed with. Their new line offers a great new technology using Chromea7. This molecular formulation is the technology inside the lenses that allows it to be more reactive to indirect sunlight and even more reactive to hotter days. This line comes in gray, graphite green and brown. Each lens offers different protections, so every pair of lenses from Transitions is suited for your needs. For this review I was able to try the new graphite green.
I have to go off into a little story about a pair of Transitions lenses, my father had. He would curse them at times. I believe he bought his when this technology was first available and they would transition so slowly. He would walk into the house and it would take several minutes to change over to clear lenses. This was one concern I had about trying this product out. I have used my new lenses now for a little over a week and think I have a good idea how they work now. Personally, I did not have any problems with the transition from clear to dark or vice versa. I thought the transition time was perfect with the new Transitions Signature Lenses. As soon as I walk in the door, they begin to change over.
One other point that I love about the Transitions are that they really cut down on the fatigue your eye goes through. If you’re a stay at home mom or go to work every day in the office, most of the time you in and out. Changing different light conditions throughout the day. Transitions continuously filters and optimizes the amount of light your eyes receive, thus reducing glare, eye fatigue and strain while blocking 100% of UVA/UVB light. I know after a day of blogging that my eyes always feel so fatigued. Going in and out of the house, looking at a computer screen, then finding that perfect light for a picture, can really put a hurting on my eyes.
Eye health is so very important and the statistics are rather scary. “Impaired vision is actually the most widespread disability in the world. It affects 4.2 billion people around the globe, but according to the World Health Organization, 80 percent of all visual impairment can be avoided and/or cured. Recently, Prevent Blindness released a study estimating that the U.S. population collectively lost 283,000 life years in 2013 due to uncorrected vision problems.” I highly suggest that even if you don’t feel that your vision is bad, it is a good idea to take the time to schedule an appointment.
I feel that Transitions lenses is a great way to get the correction you need while being able to freely enjoy both indoors and outdoor light. I had no problems with the new Transitions Signature Graphite Green lenses. They transitioned perfectly in every situation and really helped my vision in the long run. Not having to remember to bring sunglasses was the biggest bonus of them all. I forget everything and if you’re like me, these would be perfect. I looked hard to find anything that I did not like about these, but I just could not find anything. I love the new Chromea7 technology and how it can adjust the lenses darker on hotter days. If you’re interested in finding out for yourself how these will work for you, you can actually order a pair of decals online. All you have to do is simply put the decals on your glasses and watch the technology go to work. I don’t think you will be disappointed.
In my product postings, most of the products have been received free for my honest review. I will always give my honest opinion. All images and posts are property of Hello Betty.
