Over the past couple of days even before leaving for the NYCC I have been testing out and playing around with the Dyson 360 Eye. I have always loved the thought of a robot that would do my cleaning for me but was always very hesitant to purchase one. Honestly, I did not think that it would work well. I have a little fur baby, and my home is lived in. We are in and out all the time, so when I say I put this to the test, I really did.
Let me tell you firstly what impressed me the most and get that out of the way. The 360 Eye has all the suction power you would expect from a Dyson in a tiny package. The design of the 360 Eye is modern and just looks interesting and beautiful. Housed inside the body of the Dyson 360 Eye robot is the Dyson digital motor V2. Spinning at up to 78,000rpm, this energy efficient motor generates twice the suction of any robot vacuum. Dyson’s robot uses Radial Root Cyclone technology to effectively separate dust and dirt, capturing dirt smaller than the width of a human hair.
Can The Dyson 360 Eye Really See Around The Room??
I don’t know about you, but I have a ton of things around the home that are breakable. I was so worried that the Dyson 360 Eye would bump into everything, this was not the case. Unlike other Robots that use a senor to find its way around the room, the Dyson actually sees its environment. It uses a 360° vision system. The camera takes up to 30 frames per second which enables the robot to effectively capture its surroundings. The machine then builds a detailed floor plan to intelligently and systematically navigate around a room and track its position – so it knows where it is in the room, where it is yet to clean, and uses infrared sensors to detect where obstacles lie. This allows the robot to clean intelligently, moving in an efficient, systematic pattern.

Here is a little video showing you just how this robot maneuvers around. The video makes it seem louder than it really is so just keep that in mind.
It is actually really fun to see this thing maneuver its way around a room and boy, oh boy, does it get into every corner. I use this mostly in the bedrooms where this little baby can really rock. It is not super high so it can get under most taller furniture, which is great!
Every home is different; every room within a home is different. For a robot to navigate efficiently, it needs to operate as a human does: taking in its surroundings and making decisions based on what it sees. Our research into robotic vision systems, alongside investing and developing in the Dyson digital motor, was the breakthrough needed to engineer this truly powerful and intelligent robot. -James Dyson
Not only does the Dyson 360 Eye do everything I could have hoped for but it also can be connected to an app making life that much more convenient. The Dyson Link app allows you to view all of their Dyson connected machines, starting with the Dyson 360 Eye™ robot, but also the Dyson Pure Cool™ Link purifier fan and onwards to any other Dyson connected machines.
Selecting the Dyson 360 Eye gives you access to start, pause and stop their robot, view maps and statistics of cleaning sessions, and schedule single or daily cleans. With all of this information so readily available, you can stay on top of their cleaning and take action remotely.
A Little Bit Of A Problem
I will say that I did have a little problem the other day connecting to the app. The first day did great but then a week later for some reason, it wanted to give me trouble. I could not find a solution to the problem using the Troubleshooter, so I ended up having to call for support. I was so pleased with the customer service that I received. They helped me right along in getting me connected once again.
As I type it is vacuuming the bedroom, I just love it. It really picks up very well and gets the dog hair and dirt! You can check out more about the Dyson 360 Eye at Dyson.com.
