Gluten-Free Tamales From Cedar Lane

We all have those days when you just don’t have time to get dinner made. Period. No time to prep your family favorites. I know it is very hard for me to eat prepackaged food because of limits when it comes to my diet. Cedar Lane Natural Foods, was established in 1981, with just those needs in mind. Robert Atallah founded this company based on providing their customers with wholesome and satisfying meals.

Recently, Cedar Lane added a wonderful new gluten-free Tamale line up to their foods. DSCN4411These little babies are so easy to prepare in a jiff. They come in four amazing flavors, the Spinach and Feta, Chili and Cheese, Sweet Corn and Roasted Vegetable. Each tamale is made in the traditional fashion, with the mesa hand wrapped with corn husks. I have enjoyed the heck out of all these flavors. I would have to say that because I am a total spinach fan, that would have to be my favorite, but all of these tamales are wonderful. Each is packed with great flavor and offer you a great source of protein and fiber.

So you might be wondering how exactly you make these tamales? It is very simple. You can steam these on the stove top or you can pop them in the microwave. When using the microwave method, you just wrap the tamale in a damp paper towel. I am not one that uses the microwave often, but wanted to see just how these came out. PERFECT!! Three and a half minutes later, I was chowing down.
