Calling all Anime lovers! Do you live on the West Coast or looking for a little vacation for yourself and family? On July 2nd-5th, the 24th Annual Anime Expo will be taking place at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Presented by The Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation (SPJA) which will host over 100,000 lovers of Japanese animation and pop culture. Sneaking up in attendance right behind Comic-Con, this year’s show will mark the biggest presentation in its history, with the exhibition floor taking up nearly 350,000 square feet of space within the Convention Center’s South and West Halls.
Just one of the amazing opportunities you will have at this expo is a special concert featuring KISS during which co-founders Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley will introduce to the United States the # 1 Pop Singing Group Sensation from Japan – Momoiro Clover Z (MCZ). Being a long time Gene Simmons fan, this is amazing! Not only being able to see Gene Simmons but MCZ as well, priceless. Just in case Mr. Simmons reads this, one day I am going to be able to meet you..LOL..Much Love 😉
AX 2015 will present over 300 exhibitors to attendees, including such entertainment industry companies as HULU, Warner Bros. Japan, Crunchyroll, Sony Music, Sanrio, Aniplex, Sentai Filmworks, FUNimation, and many others. Exhibiting video game companies will include Capcom, SEGA, Namco Bandai, NIS America, Aksys Games, Atlus USA, Voltage and Koei Tecmo. The show will also host over 60 entertainment industry guests, including producers, directors, animators and other content creators of feature films, television, and videogames, as well as performing music groups, singers and bands.
Marc Perez, Chief Executive Officer of SPJA, said, “Producers of Hollywood entertainment properties have long found success with content based on comic books. However, Hollywood has more recently turned its attention to Japanese anime as a compelling art form that can be adapted into feature film and TV success. A few examples are ‘Pacific Rim,’ which featured giant robots inspired by anime, ‘Edge of Tomorrow,’ originally a Japanese novel called ‘All You Need Is Kill,’ the recently announced Scarlett Johansson live action film ‘Ghost in the Shell,’ based on a Japanese manga series, and an episode of The Cartoon Network’s ‘The Regular Show,’ which featured an opening sequence that paid homage to the classic anime series ‘Evangelion.’ We would very much like to invite Hollywood producers seeking exciting, fresh content to check out this year’s AX – perhaps they’ll find their next blockbuster here!”
