My husband and I have always enjoyed pickles, but sometimes I need something a bit more than just a pickle in my hand, so I did a little spin on a treat my father used to make me. Some of you may have tried them before. You take your favorite pickle, a blob of cream cheese (no fat if possible) and some Lebanon Bologna, but to make my treat a bit lower in calorie I substituted the bologna with Turkey.
You might be thinking no way, but it is actually really good. I even did a little taste test today with the nurse that comes to help my husbands father, and she loved it!! So not only are you cutting the calories, but you also are adding probiotics and antioxidants from eating the pickle instead of grabbing those potato chips.
Let’s do a little comparison shall we? So a Vlasic Dill Pickle has zero calories, zero fat, one carb and 210 mg of sodium. Now, Nacho Cheese Dorito has 140 calories, 70 calories from fat, 8 grams of total fat, 210 mg of sodium and 16 grams of carbs. Really crazy once you think about it.

Each of these flavors could really satisfy many different cravings without having to loosen that belt.
